  • Energy Efficiency: Tiny homes require less energy for heating, cooling, and maintenance due to their small size. Combined with sustainable technologies like solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and efficient insulation, these homes reduce the community’s overall carbon footprint an average of 87%! 

  • Low-Impact Building Materials: Permaculture emphasizes the use of natural, local, and renewable building materials. By constructing tiny homes with our used shipping container metal, the community avoids the carbon-heavy footprint of conventional building materials like concrete and steel which cut these emissions by 60-80%.

  • Minimal Land Disturbance: Tiny homes, often built on mobile platforms or small foundations, minimize land disturbance and prevent deforestation or large-scale landscape alterations. This reduces soil erosion and helps preserve biodiversity.

  • Renewable Energy Systems: Solar, wind, or other forms of renewable energy can power the community. This lessens reliance on fossil fuels and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Ideally, going off-grid, and relying on renewables would save another 1-3 metric tons of CO2 annually.
